Save the Music
Since it’s beginning, Concerts for Causes has given hundreds of musical instruments to deserving students. Our “Save the Music” program purchases brand new musical instruments for students. With the dropout rate of high school students in the DMV for certain demographics approaching 67%, studies show 95% of high school students who are involved in a music program graduate and go on to college — a staggering statistic! Many of our high schools have wonderful music programs with dedicated teachers, but inferior or no musical instruments. Concerts for Causes has given thousands and thousands of dollars worth of instruments to the most deserving students in under-served communities.
Feed the Hungry
Ms. Rebecca Stamps (pictured above) is the volunteer food and clothing ‘rain maker’ for Project Blessing. She lives in Lincoln Heights and operates Project Blessing out of an empty apartment that was provided by the DC government. Ms. Stamps is assisted by many volunteers within the community. Clothing for residents of Lincoln Heights is particularly appreciated, especially for the mothers-to-be and very young children. Food and vegetable donations are really appreciated any time of the year. Please keep your thoughts and prayers supporting our neighbors in Lincoln Heights. We need to help people-in-need internationally. Charity for others, like good politics and fine arts, begins right at home.
